Position: Executive Director

The successful candidate will have a passion for community cultural programs, a demonstrated success in fundraising, experience in nonprofit management and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.   The Executive Director will actively promote arts, science and history organizations and activities in the area to continue the growth of the Arts Council and the cultural community as a whole. 

This position offers the flexibility of a four-day work week, but at times requires accommodating programs, events and after-hours work, including weekend and evenings.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community cultural programming

  • Spokesperson for Arts Council in Community
  • Attend community arts, science and history events
  • Public Speaking to promote Arts Council
  • Engage diverse constituents
  • Administer Grants and scholarships, including United Arts Fund, Regional Artist Project, Projects Pool, Community Cultural Fund, Innovative Artist, Collaborative Arts Project, Theatre Arts, Edna Bost Barringer Young Artist Award.

Fundraising and Development, with Proficiency in Grant writing

  • Organize and lead the Annual United Arts Fund campaign
  • Work with staff on Jingle Bell Bash, signature fundraising event
  • Write and secure Corporate/Foundation Grants
  • Seek and secure County/Municipality Funding
  • Write and secure State Arts Grants
  • Lead Advocacy efforts, including local, state and federal funding of the arts

Head of Staff

  • Employ and effectively manage staff
  • Manage annual operating budget and investments

Serve the Board of Directors

  • Execute the policies and programs of the Board
  • Provide information, proposals, advice, counsel, and professional expertise to the staff and Board
  • Oversee the coordination of the Board and Executive Committee meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree minimum from an accredited college or university

COMPENSATION:  $60,000 with a negotiable benefits package.
