History
1960
The United Arts Council of Catawba County was originally organized as the Hickory Arts Council.
1979
The name was changed to the Catawba County Council for the Arts to reflect a broader representation of the cultural community throughout Catawba County.
2006
We renamed as the United Arts Council of Catawba County to reflect our partnerships in Catawba County.
2024
The United Arts Council of Catawba County launches rebrand with a new logo, new website, and new name: Arts Culture Catawba.
We are not a presenting organization, but rather a community subgranter of state, local government and private funds. We market the arts through our newsletter and website and conduct a United Arts Fund campaign annually that raises operating support for 8 Funded Affiliate organizations.
We are located on the SALT Block complex in Hickory — home of the Hickory Museum of Art, Catawba Science Center, Hickory Choral Society and Western Piedmont Symphony.
